Welcome Reception
The Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception with a charity recital of José Carreras will take place at the conference venue – the ESTREL Hotel & Convention Center. We are honoured that José Carreras will show his solidarity and play the lead in our opening ceremony. The Staats- and Domchor Berlin, one of the most famous boy’s choir in Germany, confirmed also their performance during the Opening Ceremony. Enjoy an evening with good friends and discussions, with great music, and with fine food along with drinks.

We cordially invite each one of you to join us at one of the world’s pre-eminent symphony orchestras – the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Not only do the world famous Berlin Philharmonic play a leading role in Berlin’s musical life, they are also in great demand the world over. The orchestra’s home is the Philharmonie at the Culture Forum. After the Old Philharmonie was destroyed during the Second World War, in 1963 a new one was designed by Hans Scharoun. Over the years, this major orchestra has worked with some of the greatest conductors ever: Hans von Bülow, Arthur Nikisch, Wilhelm Furtwängler, Sergiu Celibidache, Herbert von Karajan and Claudio Abbado, who passed over the baton to Sir Simon Rattle in autumn 2002. Introductory Presentation to the concert at 19.00 hrs.

Fun Run
Come and run along the riverside before the city wakes up!
In order to continue the tradition of the Fun & Run event, the Berlin Local Organising Committee is pleased to invite delegates to run (or walk) along the beautiful Treptower Volkspark and the Plänterwald forest. The flat and fast loop course permits a near-to-centre nature experience. The Fun Run will be free to all congress attendees. Start at 07:30 in the morning and admire the recovery area on the Spree River in its early morning splendour while you run along the Plänterwald forest.

Gala Dinner
- German Historical Museum – Schlüter Courtyard
Designed by star architect loeh Ming Pei, the elegant building of the German Historical Museum brilliantly links baroque with modern 20th century architecture. In 2006, the armoury was re-opened, following complete renovation, and the German Historical Museum’s collections are once again open to the public.
An attraction in itself, the SCHLÜTER COURTYARD, which Pei covered with a glass filigree roof, provides a great event location. Join us for a an amazing evening at the beautiful Schlüter Courtyard centrally located on the avenue Unter den Linden.
You will be welcomed with a cocktail and will have a first opportunity for a great networking and get together. Outstanding musicians will pleasure you during this excusive evening.
